EA FC 24 Team of the Year released

The EA FC 24 Team of the Year officially launched on the 19th of January. The attackers for both men and women were in packs till the 21st. Followed by the midfielders from the 21st till the 23rd. The defenders will make their appearance on the 23rd of January, till the 25th.

When will the EA FC 24 Team of the Year be released?

Every year EA Sports releases the full squad before implementing the new cards in the game. We expect the reveal of the team on Thursday the 18th of January 2024, and for the cards to be implemented on Friday the 19th of January 2024. 

Which players will be in the EA FC 24 Team of the Year?

First of all, the Team of the Year will be decided by both the community (through votes) and EA Sports. Therefore it's not only based on individual player performances, but also likeability and overall achievement (like the Ballon d'Or). First, let's take a look at the Team of the Year in FIFA 23.

We expect a few FIFA 23 Team of the Year players to make a return, mainly Messi (Ballon d'Or winner), Mbappé, Bellingham, Van Dijk, Hakimi, and De Bruyne. The other players we think might not make it this year due to the form they are in, including injuries. A player like Benzema also moved to a relatively unknown competition (Saudi Arabia), which won't help him in the community vote. We feel like Haaland will be replacing him in Team of the Year, given his recent success as a treble winner as well as his overall form and popularity. For the goalie position, Ederson comes to mind, as well as Ter Stegen (Barcelona). Militao might make it again, but we also feel Ruben Dias could be replacing him.

When are the EA FC 24 Team of the Year nominees announced?

EA Sports will most likely be announcing the EA FC 24 Team of the Year nominees at the beginning of January. We expect the 8th of January to be the date of the announcement. From then on, the community can vote on their favorite players. 

Will there be a female EA FC 24 Team of the Year?

It is still unclear if there will also be a female EA FC 24 Team of the Year. However, given the fact that for the first time in the history of the game, females have been added to Ultimate Team, we feel like it is the logical conclusion. Therefore we predict there will be a female EA FC 24 Team of the Year, that will be released in conjunction with the male one. Whether it will follow the same nominees and voting system, remains to be seen.

EA Sports FC 24 is the newest game from developer EA, and the first one bearing the new name after EA and FIFA could not come to an agreement.
