It is considered the best formation outside a few banned ones, the three and five backs (in the professional scene). As we said, we recommend this formation for anyone playing competitive FIFA, or those who are looking for a solid foundation.

Five players in the back works very well in EA FC 24. It might feel a bit ratty, but this formation is more offensive than you might think. We are having major success with this formation and we suggest you try it to. Ideally you want three center backs, while the right and left center mid can be a bit more on the attacking side. The center midfielder you want a strong player who can stay back.

One of the most dominant formations over the past EA FC games is the 4-2-3-1 formation, and that is no different in EA FC 24. The formation provides a solid defense, mostly because of the two defensive midfielders. On the offense, you have a creative number 10 that can help out. Especially because of the two defensive midfielders that can be relied on. Next to that, you have two wingers and one striker at your disposal, plenty of firepower so to speak.
One of the choices you have is to play around with your two defensive midfielders. You can opt for one defensive specialist and one box-to-box player, for example. Giving you that much more versatility. Which is one of the biggest advantages of choosing 4-2-3-1.
